Maisie
Our gorgeous Maisie is looking for a forever home where she will be cherished. She is a lovely medium sized lady with soft light brown fur and the most adorable big chestnut coloured eyes. She would make the perfect lap warmer for her future adopter.
Maisie was discovered in quite a distressing condition. She was found in a small town, roughly an hour from the capital of Macedonia, with a large piece of barbed wire entangled around her hind legs. The wire had begun to embed itself into her skin, clearly causing her immense pain. It’s a mystery how she came to be in this situation—whether it was a tragic accident or the result of someone’s deliberate cruelty.
It took us a while to gain her trust and eventually get her to a vet for a much needed check up, some nutritious food and to have the barbed wire safely removed. Following her recovery, Maisie has been with us for around three months and is ready to move onto the next step in her journey.
Now aged 2.5 years, Maisie interacts well with other dogs in our kennels and could happily live with another dog in the home. She would be just as happy as the sole dog with all the attention on her, she loves a cuddle and is always pleased to receive some gentle fuss. Unfortunately, Maisie is not the biggest fan of cats and would not be able to live with them in the home.
Since we don’t know a lot about Maisie’s history, we would advise a home without young children. Kids over 10 would be fine, some experience with rescue dogs would be great, but we would need any children in the home to understand that sometimes dogs prefer their own space. Crate training would be a crucial part of Maisie’s settling in period, having a private space where she can go to be left alone would be great for her.
Maisie really is a sweetheart who is in need of a loving home that can give her the love that she has been missing out on.
