Meet Archie
Ten years old, house trained, gentle, easygoing and already an expert at being someone's companion.
Archie is a lovely older gentleman whose life has taken an unexpected turn. Originally from Turkey, Archie came into our care when his UK owner needed some temporary help while dealing with personal circumstances. Sadly, due to his owner's health, it now looks unlikely that Archie will be able to return home, so, at 10 years old, Archie finds himself looking for something he probably never expected to need again — a family of his own.
Personality
Archie is a wonderfully calm, gentle and easygoing boy who simply enjoys being around people. He's sociable with both men and women and has a lovely, balanced nature that makes him an easy companion to have around.
Archie is also fantastic with children, including very young children and toddlers. He is patient and gentle around them and has already shown what a lovely family dog he can be.
Cats aren't necessarily Archie's favourite companions, but he has lived alongside them and can do so successfully when appropriate boundaries and space are respected.
One of the lovely things about adopting Archie is that he already knows how home life works, having previously lived in an apartment, he is fully house trained and accustomed to living as part of a household. He doesn't need endless entertainment or a hectic lifestyle to be happy.
Archie appreciates the simple things, a comfortable place to snooze, his usual routine, companionship and being close to the people he loves. He's the kind of dog who doesn't demand to be the centre of everything, he just quietly becomes part of it.
Archie's perfect home
Archie is looking for a peaceful, loving home where he can settle back into the security of family life.
He doesn't need someone to teach him how to be a pet, he already knows. He just needs someone willing to open their home to an older boy and give him the comfort, companionship and love he deserves. In return, Archie will bring something rather special: the quiet, steady companionship of a dog who already understands how wonderful it is simply to belong.
At 10 years old, Archie isn't asking for a new beginning, he's just looking for somewhere he never has to leave again.
