The Waggy Tails Club is a simple way to give Pawpers regular support and help us be there for the animals who depend on us.
Supporters are encouraged to give £5 a month, but you can choose any amount that works for you. Those regular gifts add up, helping towards food, veterinary treatment, shelter and the everyday costs of caring for our Pawpers.
Regular support also gives us a little more certainty when planning ahead and deciding how we can help the next animal who needs us.

Regular sponsorship gives Pawpers dependable monthly support towards the everyday costs of caring for the many dogs who call the rescue home while they wait for their future.
Full sponsorship is around £60 per month (subject to change), helping towards the cost of a dog's food, boarding and ongoing care. But you don't have to sponsor the full amount — part sponsorships of any amount are very welcome, and every regular contribution helps.

Clarence's Story – Help Him Have a Future ❤️
He's been through so much. Now he deserves a chance to heal.
When you look into Clarence's beautiful brown eyes, it's difficult to imagine everything this gentle boy has been through.
When Clarence came into our care, he was in a heartbreaking condition. Painful-looking growths covered parts of his face and mouth, including around one eye. His body showed signs of hardship, and he desperately needed veterinary attention.
Clarence was suffering from extensive papillomas, wart-like growths that can develop as a result of a viral infection in dogs. In his case, the growths were particularly severe, affecting his mouth, lips and face. The photographs from his initial veterinary examination are difficult to look at, but behind those images is a living, feeling animal who deserves comfort, kindness and a chance at a better life. And that's exactly what we want to give him.
A Little Hope for Clarence 🐾
Clarence has been diagnosed with extensive papillomas — non-cancerous, wart-like growths that have affected his face, lips and the inside of his mouth. Although thankfully these growths are not cancerous, the extent of his condition is heartbreaking, some of the growths are particularly large, and their location makes his need for veterinary care all the more important.
But there is hope.
You can see from Clarence's more recent photographs, there has been some improvement in his appearance, and behind those beautiful brown eyes is a boy who deserves the chance to experience life without the burden of this condition.
We don't yet know what his treatment journey will involve or how long it might take. What we do know is that Clarence deserves every opportunity to get better, and with the help of our supporters, we want to give him that chance. ❤️
Why We Need Your Help ❤️
Rescuing a dog like Clarence is about far more than getting him off the streets. He needs veterinary assessments, appropriate treatment, good nutrition, a safe place to recover and continued monitoring to give him the best possible chance.
Every veterinary visit, every treatment and every day of care comes at a cost. As a small rescue relying on the generosity of our supporters, we simply couldn't continue helping dogs like Clarence without you.
We know there are so many deserving animals needing help. We know times are difficult, and we're conscious of how often we have to ask for support, but when a dog like Clarence comes into our lives, how can we turn away?

Ned's Story – Help Him Heal ❤️🩹
Ned has already experienced unimaginable cruelty. Now he deserves a future filled with kindness, comfort and love.
Ned came to Pawpers after suffering horrific acid burns, injuries no innocent animal should ever have to endure. We don't know why someone chose to hurt him so terribly, but we do know that he deserves every chance to recover.
A kind intervention for Ned 🐾
Thankfully, two incredibly kind women stepped in when Ned needed help most. They arranged veterinary treatment and spent approximately €700 caring for him. But as the costs continued to rise, they could no longer fund his treatment alone. That's when they reached out to Pawpers.
Why We Need Your Help ❤️
Despite already having so many dogs depending on us, we simply couldn't turn Ned away. His recovery is far from over, Ned needs continued veterinary care for his burns, and he may also require surgery on one of his back legs. The full extent of his treatment needs, and the costs involved, are not yet known but through everything he has endured, Ned is still standing, still walking and, remarkably, still showing trust in the people around him.
We want to make sure that trust is rewarded.

Betty's Story – Join Her Forever Family 🧡
She may never have a family of her own. But together, we can make sure she never feels alone.
Betty's story began on a rubbish dump in Macedonia, where she was struggling to survive alongside her three young puppies. With three little lives depending on her, Betty had somehow managed to keep her babies safe through an incredibly difficult start in life. When Pawpers came to their rescue, the little family finally had somewhere safe to call home.
But Betty's challenges weren't over.
Around two years ago, she was diagnosed with leishmaniasis, a serious condition that requires ongoing monitoring and can mean lifelong treatment and care. Betty underwent treatment last winter, but recently there have been worrying signs that her condition may be flaring up again. Further blood tests have been needed to assess her health, including how her organs are functioning, and determine what care she needs next.
For Betty, this is likely to be something she will live with for the rest of her life.
A very special girl ❤️
Despite everything she's been through, Betty is an incredibly loving, loyal and affectionate girl. She adores the people she trusts, loves nothing more than cuddles and has a wonderfully devoted nature. She's obedient, gentle with those she loves and has a special place in the hearts of the people caring for her.
Betty can be selective about her canine companions, although she learns to live happily alongside dogs she knows and trusts. She's also perfectly comfortable sharing her shelter home with the resident cats! She's a girl with a big personality, an even bigger heart and so much love to give.
Sadly, because of her health needs and individual circumstances, Betty is likely to remain a permanent resident at Pawpers. For some dogs, rescue is just a stepping stone towards their forever home. For Betty, Pawpers is her forever home.
She doesn't need an adopter. She needs a village. 🐾
Betty is fortunate to already have wonderful sponsors who help towards her everyday care, and we're incredibly grateful for their kindness. But living with leishmaniasis means Betty's needs can be unpredictable. Alongside her regular food, shelter and routine care, she may need additional blood tests, veterinary appointments, medication and further treatment when her condition flares up.
These additional medical costs can quickly mount up, far exceeding what her regular sponsorship covers. And because Betty is likely to remain with Pawpers for the rest of her life, we're committed to making sure she receives whatever care she needs, for as long as she needs it.
