Meet Chance
Chance's story began in fear.
Living alone on the streets, unwanted and constantly chased, he never knew what danger might be waiting around the corner. His tail might have been wagging, but Chance was always alert, always watching and never quite able to relax.
Thanks to the wonderful people who have sponsored him, Chance was finally given exactly that, a chance. And now we're getting to see the dog he was always meant to be.
Personality
Chance is a 1½-year-old boy full of character, affection and warmth, his tail now wags freely and constantly, and when he sees his people, he greets them with his whole heart. As his confidence has grown, his true personality has begun to shine through; gentle, affectionate and eager to connect.
Life on the streets wasn't kind to Chance, and he still carries a few small scars on his head and neck from encounters with other dogs, but those scars are only a tiny part of his story.
Chance's perfect home
For his new home, we feel Chance would be happiest as the only dog, where he can have the security and attention of his family to himself. A home with a calm female dog may also be considered if she is a suitable match.
We think Chance would truly blossom somewhere quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature. A rural or nature-rich home, away from the noise and unpredictability he's known in the past, would give this sensitive boy the opportunity to settle, feel secure and enjoy life at his own pace.
He doesn't need a complicated life, he needs consistency, kindness, walks in peaceful places, people he can trust, and somewhere he can finally understand that he doesn't have to keep looking over his shoulder.
Chance has already shown us just how much love he has to give when he feels safe.
