Meet Eirik
Three years ago, Eirik arrived needing help. Today, he's a gentle, affectionate boy who's more than ready to leave kennel life behind.
When Eirik was first found, he was painfully thin from hunger, his skin was in poor condition and one of his eyes was affected by infection, he needed time, care and the chance to recover. Over the three years he's been with us, that's exactly what he's had.
Slowly, Eirik gained weight and strength, his skin healed, his confidence grew and the struggling dog who first arrived began to show us who he really was, and underneath it all was a wonderfully gentle boy.
Personality
Eirik is a kind, affectionate and gentle dog who enjoys human companionship and attention. After three years in rescue, he's become comfortable with the people who care for him and is ready for the opportunity to build that same bond with a family of his own. There's something quietly lovely about Eirik, he doesn't need a dramatic introduction or a long list of tricks to make himself memorable.
He's simply a sweet boy who enjoys affection and deserves the chance to experience life beyond the kennels.
A little something that's uniquely Eirik
Eirik still carries one tiny visible reminder of the condition he was in when he arrived, he has a small area of depigmentation in the fur beside his mouth, giving him a rather distinctive little marking on one side of his face.
It's part of what makes Eirik look like Eirik; but these days, it's about the least interesting thing about him.
Eirik's perfect home
After spending the last three years in rescue, Eirik needs a loving, stable home and people who will give him time to adjust to a completely different way of life. A home will bring experiences and routines that may be new to him, so he'll need patience and understanding while he settles in and discovers what family life is all about.
Most of all, Eirik needs companionship, warmth and somewhere he can finally belong.
Three years ago, someone opened a door for Eirik when he desperately needed help. Now we're hoping someone will open another one, and this time, it will be the door to his home.
