Meet Leo
At around 2½ years old, Leo is a beautiful pale Golden Retriever with a gentle nature, an adventurous streak and a great love of human company. Today he's a healthy, happy young dog who's ready for family life, but that's quite a transformation from the frightened, painfully thin dog who was first found on the streets.
Leo was in a very poor condition when he was rescued, he was extremely underweight, frightened and struggling to trust the world around him. Since then, with care, food, safety and time, Leo has blossomed, he's grown into a friendly, affectionate and sociable young dog who enjoys people and is keen to experience life alongside them. Now it's time for the next part of his story: leaving shelter life behind and having a home of his own.
Personality

Leo's perfect home
Leo would particularly suit people who want their dog to be a genuine part of their lives, he's young and active enough to enjoy long walks, hiking, running and exploring, so he'd love a home that can give him plenty of opportunities to get out into the world. Alongside that activity, he needs what he seems to value most: People.
Leo is an affectionate boy who loves closeness and attention, and after shelter life we'd love to see him experience all the ordinary things that come with truly belonging somewhere; his own bed, family routines, adventures together and people to come home with at the end of them.
He's still a young dog, so continued training, enrichment and guidance will be important as he adjusts to home life. Leo has already travelled quite a distance from the frightened, painfully thin dog who was found on the street. Now we'd like his next journey to end somewhere very different: home.
