Meet Luna
Three years in kennels haven't dimmed Luna's enthusiasm for life. She's still smiling, still playing and still waiting for someone to realise just how much fun they could have together.
At around 5 years old, Luna is a big, beautiful girl with an appearance that's almost as distinctive as her personality. Her coat is mostly pale grey with a darker grey “saddle” across her back, finished off with two fabulous blonde floppy ears. She's the sort of dog who'll have strangers stopping you on walks to ask: “What kind of dog is she?” And once they've met her, they'll probably remember her.
Personality
Luna is happy, confident, affectionate and very sociable, she's a big girl with plenty of enthusiasm and can be bouncy when she's excited, but underneath all that energy is an extremely lovable dog who thoroughly enjoys both human and canine company. She's playful, outgoing and always seems to have a smile on her face.
Give Luna a garden, some toys and someone willing to join in and she'll happily show you exactly how much fun she can have.
Running? Absolutely. Rolling around in the grass? Definitely. A few rounds of fetch? Now you're speaking Luna's language. 🎾
Luna gets on really well with other dogs and loves playing with her canine friends in the rescue garden, she could happily share her home with a compatible resident dog and would undoubtedly enjoy having a playmate around, but another dog isn't essential. Luna could be equally happy as the only dog in her home, provided she continues to have opportunities to socialise with suitable canine friends through walks, playdates or other appropriate activities.
Luna is also cat friendly and could potentially share her home with feline companions, with sensible introductions while everyone gets to know one another.
Luna is friendly with children and enjoys playing and interacting with them, however, she's also a large, energetic and sometimes bouncy dog, so we're recommending children aged 10+. That's not because Luna doesn't like younger children, she does, but an enthusiastic Luna could simply be a bit overwhelming for smaller children, particularly those who aren't accustomed to bigger dogs.
Luna is looking for an active home with a good-sized, secure garden where she has space to run, play and enjoy herself. She'd make a brilliant companion for someone who enjoys walking, exploring and getting outdoors, and we can easily imagine Luna thoroughly enjoying longer walks and adventures with her family.
She would benefit from continued lead training and will need patient, consistent guidance while she develops her skills. At around five, Luna has the advantage of being well beyond the tiny-puppy stage while still having plenty of energy and enthusiasm for everything life has to offer. And after the activity? There's an affectionate girl who's more than happy to enjoy some downtime and cuddles with her people.
Luna's perfect home
Luna isn't looking for a quiet retirement, she's looking for a life. Walks and adventures, games in the garden, toys, canine friends, people to love, somewhere comfortable to flop at the end of a busy day.
After three years in kennels, there are so many ordinary things Luna is still waiting to experience as someone's dog, she's spent long enough watching life happen from the rescue. Now she needs a family who'll take her out there to live it.
