Meet Mel
Mel is a beautiful 7–8-month-old girl with a sweet, gentle nature. She's Carrots' sister, and while the two share a close bond, Mel has her own lovely personality just waiting to shine.
Mel can be a little shy when meeting people, preferring to take a moment to work out whether you're a friend. But give her some kindness, patience and perhaps a tasty treat or two, and she soon begins to relax!
Personality
She's good with other dogs, cats and people, although she's still learning to feel confident in new situations. At the moment, she looks to her sister Carrots for reassurance, so she'll benefit from a family who can gently encourage her independence and help her discover the world at her own pace.
Mel's perfect home
Mel doesn't need someone to rush her. She needs someone who will celebrate the little victories, whether that's approaching a new person, exploring somewhere unfamiliar or simply feeling brave enough to ask for a cuddle. With patience, positive experiences and plenty of love, we believe Mel has everything she needs to blossom into a wonderful companion.
Mel may not be the first dog to rush over and say hello, but sometimes the quietest little souls have the most love to give.
She's looking for a family who will give her time to settle, help her feel safe and show her just how wonderful life can be.
