Meet Ria
Give Ria a little time to get to know you, and you'll discover the playful, affectionate girl waiting underneath that initially shy exterior.
Ria is a wonderfully gentle girl with a soft nature, a curious side and a real love of life. Whether she's exploring somewhere new, playing with her dog friends or simply enjoying some quiet time beside the people she trusts, Ria has a lovely warmth about her. She might not introduce herself as the most confident girl in the room, but once Ria feels comfortable? That's when the fun begins.
Personality
Ria is sweet, affectionate and playful, although she can initially be shy around unfamiliar people and in new environments. She needs a little time to observe, work things out and decide that everything is okay. Once she does, her playful side comes shining through and she becomes a loving, happy companion who enjoys being around her people.
Ria isn't a dog who needs to be rushed, give her the space to build confidence at her own pace and she'll show you just how much personality is hiding behind that initial shyness.
If there's one thing that gives Ria confidence and brings out her playful side, it's other dogs.
She absolutely loves canine company and currently lives happily alongside several dog friends. She's social, playful and thoroughly enjoys having other dogs around her, for that reason, we think Ria could particularly enjoy a home with a friendly, compatible resident dog to play with and share life alongside.
Ria was introduced to cats when she was younger and showed no concerning behaviour around them, as some time has passed since that assessment, she can be tested again if a prospective home has resident cats.
Ria could also live with children aged 7+ who understand that she may need a little time and space to feel comfortable when she first arrives.
Ria's perfect home
Ria needs a kind, patient home that won't expect her to walk through the door and immediately behave as though she's always lived there. New people, new surroundings and a completely new routine may take a little getting used to, but that's only one side of Ria.
Give her time to settle and you'll discover the affectionate girl who loves company, the curious explorer and the playful dog who comes alive around her friends.
She'd love regular walks, opportunities to play, plenty of affection once she's ready for it and people who understand that trust doesn't need to happen overnight.
Ria might take a little while to decide you're her friend, but once she does, you'll get to meet the wonderful girl everyone who knows her already sees.
