Meet Scooby
Scooby once waited outside the home he thought was his. This time, we'd like to find him a door that will always open for him.
Scooby is a lively, lovable terrier with a big personality and an enormous amount of affection to give. As a young puppy, Scooby thought he'd found his family, but as he grew, his owners realised he was going to be larger than they'd expected and decided they no longer wanted him. They put Scooby outside and closed the door and gate behind him, but Scooby didn't understand that he no longer lived there. He stayed close to the house he knew, even sleeping outside the front of it and waiting to be let back in. Eventually, an animal rights activist became aware of what was happening and reached out for help.
That's how Scooby came to us, and how his search for the right family finally began.
Personality
Scooby is a cheerful, playful and wonderfully social boy who loves interacting with people, he's funny, curious and full of character, with plenty of that classic terrier enthusiasm for life. He enjoys being active, walks nicely on the lead and has a particularly adorable habit of expressing his excitement with enthusiastic little jumps.
After everything that's happened, Scooby hasn't lost his joy, he still wants to play, he still wants to explore, and, most importantly, he still wants to be close to people.
Scooby's perfect home
Scooby needs a home that understands both sides of this lovely boy, his affectionate, sociable personality and his terrier instincts. He isn't currently suitable to live with male dogs, so we'd be looking for either an only-dog home or potentially a home with a compatible female dog.
Scooby also has a strong prey drive, which means he needs a home without cats or other small animals.
In the right environment, he'll have every opportunity to be exactly what he is: an energetic, funny and loving dog who wants to be involved in family life. He needs walks, play, adventure, people to make laugh, and somewhere he can finally feel completely secure.
Scooby has already experienced what it's like to wait outside a door that never opened for him. Let's make sure the next one leads him home for good.
