Evelyn's story
I lost my dog Sam 3 years ago and said I could never have another dog due to the heartbreak of losing her after 14 1/2 wonderful years, then one Friday I spotted the advert for Evelyn on Facebook.
I completed the application on Pawpers in the Ruff straight away and thought I’d never stand a chance of getting her! Within a couple of hours, Mafalda made contact and asked for further details on my current pets and daily routine. It was very obvious right from the start that the Pawpers in the Ruff are a well set-up charity who clearly care for their animals and will always do the best for them, no matter what.
There were concerns about me having cats and ducks and they made sure I had secure places for them and introduced Evelyn to cats and ducks and sent me videos. The following Tuesdays I had a video call with Marija, and she went through everything with me and also had Evelyn with her. Marija said for me to have a think about it all, and let her know if I’d like to adopt Evelyn, if she was also happy that I could give Evelyn the home she deserved. I replied within 10 minutes to say without a doubt I wanted Evelyn and Marija agreed.
From that point I was kept updated on how Evelyn was doing regular pictures I received the booklet that tells you everything you need and hints and tips on how to help your new arrival settle. Any questions I had were answered and nothing was too much trouble.
There is not one thing I can fault Pawpers in the Ruff and can never thank them enough for letting me adopt Evelyn. Everyone I dealt with is amazing and so dedicated to all the dogs they help.
I have had Evelyn 7 weeks now and we're having an amazing time together and I have a new best friend back. Evelyn has the most amazing temperament and everyone who meets her loves her. She comes everywhere with me and it’s very common to find work colleagues and women at the yard where my horse is sat having cuddles with her. She lives happily with my cats and ducks and they all sit in the garden.
Thank you Pawpers in the Ruff xxx
P.S. I have never known a dog snoring like Evelyn does!
