Polly

Miss Polly was found lingering around the airport area with a dreadful skin condition. We were alerted to her and wanted to try and get her to safety. Although it was quite difficult to rescue her, as she was very unsure and untrusting of people - as you can imagine! Who knows what horror she has been through in her short life so far.

Aged 1.5 years, we did manage to take her, but she was very shy and nervous so we left her be for a few days - just giving food etc to gain her trust. Within time the vet office gained her trust and were able to treat her medically as well as shown her plenty of love. She is now showing her true personality with those she trusts, she is such a little sweetheart.

Polly plays like a puppy, she loves chasing all the dogs at the vet kennels and is starting to live life like a dog should.
Polly needs a home who will have the patience to gain her trust slowly and won't push her too soon. She needs to gain her new families trust before her personality will come out. She would suit a calm, quiet household without too much 'hustle and bustle'. This is why we would prefer her to be in a home with children at least 13+ (if any at all) that have experience with rescue animals requirements. Polly could happily live with another dog, which may help with her confidence too.

Polly is comfortable in a crate, she finds this is her safe space to go and rest when she gets overwhelmed. She is also starting to walk on a lead, although this will need more practice.
She is not currently cat tested but can be for a suitable application.
