Scooby
Scooby is a lively terrier with a big personality and a lot of love to give. He came to our shelter from another city after a difficult experience with his previous owners. As a young puppy, he was welcomed into a home, but once his owners realized he would grow larger than they expected, they made the heartbreaking decision to leave him outside. They closed the door and gate on him, and Scooby simply stayed there, sleeping in front of the house he once belonged to, even as they brought in a new dog of a smaller breed.
An animal rights activist who witnessed the situation reached out to us for help, and Scooby was brought to our shelter so that he could have a chance at finding the right home he truly deserves.
Despite his past, Scooby is a cheerful, playful, and very social dog. He loves interacting with people and has a joyful, funny nature that makes him a pleasure to be around. Like many terriers, he is energetic, curious, and full of character. He walks well on the lead and enjoys being active, often expressing his excitement with enthusiastic little jumps.
Scooby currently cannot live with male dogs, so he would do best either as the only dog in the household or potentially with a compatible female dog. He also has a strong prey drive, which means a home without cats or other small animals would be the safest and most suitable environment for him.
Scooby is looking for a home where his playful spirit and loyalty will be appreciated, and where he can finally feel secure and included as a true member of the family.
